This adapted version of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy has been produced by a group of young people specially for the opening of the Arts Centre. Hyndburn Leisure Centre Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2010 : 10.00am - 5.00pm GREAT NEW VENUE! After 44 years at Blackburn’s King George’s Hall, the exhibition is moving to Hyndburn Leisure Centre with a larger exhibition space, free on-site parking, quick links from the M65 and easy access for disabled visitors. With around 40 displays, from wonderful working layouts to modelling demonstrations, trade stands, a railway artist and the railway preservation movement this promises to be a better exhibition than ever. Monday Evening Workshops These workshops will introduce children and young people to drama. They will enjoy learning a range of drama and theatre techniques and styles and become skilled in employing them to create work. They will take an imaginative approach to learning acting, movement and performance, building confidence and having fun in the process. Each group will have the opportunity to perform at Burnley Youth Theatre as part of a sharing event. See website www.civicartscentre.co.uk for details of times and prices
Tuesday Evening Workshops Lessons in drama, musical theatre, dance and movement ages 6 – 18 years. Examinations optional with UCAS-Accredited boards, (LAMDA & Rockschool). Regular stage productions involving all students allow them to showcase their work. Regular workshops and masterclasses with leading professionals. No audition for entry – Any child is welcome. Wednesday Daytime Paint & Play 9.30am - 10.30am Preschoolers can come along and paint and play whilst mums have a cup of coffee and a chat. Note: parents must stay with their children. ADMISSION : £2.00 per child per session
Knitting Circle 1.30pm - 2.30pm Come along and knit with friends, tea and coffee provided. Even if you’ve never knitted before this is a good place to learn simple stitches. ADMISSION : £2.00 per person per session

Friday Daytime Book Club 9.30am - 10.30am Come along for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat about your favourite books. As time goes on we’ll choose books to read and discuss them too. Writing Group 11.00am - 12 noon One of the aims of the Arts Centre is to put on new plays written by local writers. Come along to the writing group and we can work together to produce new work. Who knows, your play could be produced by one of the team of producers at the Arts Centre. If you have young children bring them along. ADMISSION : £2.00 per week - Tea and Coffee included
Drama for over 50s 1.00pm - 2.00pm Did you enjoy being in shows many moons ago? Have you lost your confidence a little? Would you like to try your hand at appearing on stage for the first time but not sure how to go about it? Come along for drama sessions and have a go. We’re not working towards a show, just having fun developing characters, voice techniques and confidence building. ADMISSION : £2.00 per person per session. Feel free to stick around afterwards for Tea and Coffee.
